Drama unfolded at the Atwima Twedie court in the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, during the first court hearing of the sh00ting incident involving a student of the Adventist SHS in Bantama.
A student of the school identified as Bernard accidentally sh0t Suzy Pinamang, his classmate, leaving her blind on Friday, April 4, 2025
Following the incident, he was arrested and kept in police custody until his first court hearing. He appeared in court accompanied by school authorities with his face covered in a scarf.
However, the family of the victim was not pleased with his first court appearance, as a confrontation occurred between Suzy Pinamang’s family and the school authorities, who went to court.
They accused the school of shielding the suspect. They claim the school is protecting the young boy when their daughter is the one who needs help.
They confronted the House master and questioned why the suspect was brought to court with his face covered.
In response, the housemaster refuted the claims made by Suzy’s family. He defended the school and insisted that they have been supportive since day 1. Adding that the school authorities took Suzy to the hospital when she was shot by her mate.
