Daniel Koranteng, also known as Nana Amakye, the 35-year-old businessman implicated in the protracted Ahmed Suale’s murder case, has been remanded by the Madina District Court.
He faces a provisional murder charge, with committal proceedings set for April 1, 2025, for his involvement in the 2019 murder of investigative journalist Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
According to prosecutors, Koranteng and Suale were both affiliated with Tiger Eye P.I., the investigative firm led by Anas Aremeyaw Anas. The case took a dramatic turn when Kennedy Agyapong, MP, broadcasted Suale’s images on Net2 TV in 2018, calling for retaliation against the journalist.
“Following the publication of his images, Ahmed Suale was shot and killed in Madina on January 16, 2019. Call records placed the accused near Suale’s residence at the time of the murder,” the prosecution revealed.
Investigations also uncovered that Koranteng fled to the UK in 2019 after ignoring police summons. However, he returned to Ghana and was arrested in Amasaman on March 15, 2025.
